The guy behind the dog
Hi. I'm figuring it out.
41 years old. Former corporate guy. Current work-in-progress. Full-time Buster companion.
Here's where I'm at.
I had a good career. A really good one, actually. The kind with a title that sounds impressive at dinner parties and a salary that made my parents proud. I had the routine, the five-year plan, the Monday morning calendar — the whole package.
And then one day I started asking a different question. Not 'how do I get to the next level?' but 'is this the right mountain?' Turns out those are very different questions.
So I stepped back. Made some space. Decided to spend some real time figuring out what I actually want — not what I was supposed to want.
That was the beginning of Going Off Leash. Not a retirement. Not a crisis. Just a guy with a dog and a genuine curiosity about what a life built on purpose actually looks like.
So what is this, exactly?
Going Off Leash is a blog, a journal, a web series, and honestly sometimes just a place to think out loud. I'm documenting the search — the places I go, the people I meet, the ideas I'm wrestling with, the moments of clarity and the moments of total confusion. Buster is in most of it.
Come along.
